  • 1978: Inaugural meeting of Newport Mind
  • 1985: Funding from Manpower Services Commission under the Community Programme Scheme
  • 1986: Halfway House opened in York Place
  • 1987: New Mental Health Strategy for Wales, also funding from Health and Social Services as well as Urban Aid Funding
  • 1988: Second shared housing project opened
  • 1990: Drop In moves to Princes Chambers
  • 1991: Halfway House moves and third house opened
  • 1992: Women's Drop In inaugurated
  • 1994: Pilot Floating Support Project
  • 1994: Floating Support Service funded by Newport Borough Council
  • 1997: Young person's development work undertaken, funded by National Lottery
  • 1997: Drop In opens at weekends
  • 1998: Women's House opened
  • 1998: Urdu / Punjabi speaking Outreach Worker in post

  • 2005: Newport Mind recommended for Investors In People Award
  • 2008: Newport Mind achieves IIP status and a new Director takes over. Newport Mind achieves 30 years of operational service and 10 years of the Ashianna group.
